Beginner 2 Day Workshop - Studio & Outdoor Painting
Join us for a fun 2 days workshop to get creative after work and then apply your new skills while sketching outdoors and enjoying the greenery of the Botanical Garden in the centre of Sofia.
No prior experience needed! Just bring your creativity - we will take care of the art supplies and knowledge sharing
Our watercolor workshop is designed to be easygoing, inspiring, and practical. Each part of the course combines clear explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on painting time.
The Workshop has 2 parts:

Day 1 - Guided Studio Session - 7pm to 9 pm
- Understand color theory, composition, and sketching basics
- Watercolour art supplies basics
- Learn tips and tricks to create effects on your piece

Day 2 - Outdoor Session at the Botanical Garden - 11-1pm
- Get inspired in the exotic greenery of the Botanical Garden
- Learn how to choose a subject and observe color and light
- Get comfortable painting outdoors - it’s a great meditation!
The session will become fully practical, giving everyone time to paint, experiment, and receive individual guidance.
How the sessions work:
Our watercolor workshop is designed to be easygoing, inspiring, and practical. Each part of the course combines clear explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on painting time.
You’ll begin with simple exercises and gradually build up to creating your own finished watercolor pieces. The pace is beginner-friendly, and our instructors will support you throughout the process with tips, feedback, and encouragement.
The goal is not perfection — it’s to enjoy painting, understand the basics, and gain the confidence to continue exploring watercolor on your own.

Introduction to Watercolor
We’ll begin with a brief introduction to the history of watercolor, exploring its origins and how this beautiful art form has evolved over time. Our instructors will share insights into the tradition of watercolor painting, setting the stage for an inspiring and hands-on creative session.

Materials and Demonstration
Our instructors will introduce the materials needed for painting and provide a step-by-step demonstration of essential techniques. Using high-quality paints, brushes, and paper, we’ll guide you through the process of creating vibrant, unique watercolor designs that you’ll be proud to showcase or gift to loved ones.

Hands-On Experience
Now it’s time for the fun part! All participants in the watercolor workshop will get the chance to create their own unique designs using the techniques learned in the demonstration. Our team will be on hand to provide guidance and encouragement, ensuring everyone has a great time and feels confident in their artistic abilities.

Moni
Simona has been painting since childhood. No medium intimidates her - whether it’s oil, watercolour, pastels, charcoal, or others. Recently, she has become especially passionate about plein air drawing and watercolour painting. You may find her sketching anywhere - during a quick break on a mountain hike or even aboard a sailboat in the Atlantic.
